Project Description

STICHA Relax & Stretch App

OBJECTIVE: Creating an app that provides stretching tips and instructions on how to make the right stretching movements with the correct technique, so users can make sure they are stretching correctly in order to prevent injury. Sticha has also to help users to include stretching habits during their day-to-day routine, for example, by taking small breaks during the day to make some important stretching exercises that are going to keep them healthier, release tension and increase energy.

The app has to provide not only a step by step stretching instructions but it has also to allow users to create their own to-do lists for different periods of the day, depending on their needs and time availability,  what would allow the users to keep their body stretching routine (daily basis) since the app has an agenda and users can set an alarm for each activity scheduled. Sticha App also includes some other features such as music for relaxing and chill. They can listen to the playlist during their daily activities and also while doing their stretching/breathing exercises.

Stretching is an extremely important practice to add to your daily routine to be on your way to better health. It is very important to stretch in order to receive multiple benefits for your body and your mind. That is why Sticha App wants to provide an easy-to-learn and one-stop tool that can help users to keep not only stretching habits but also, breathing and relaxing habits.

Inspirations and Design Concept

The research I made before start sketching the Sticha App was very helpful and the app the most inspired me was the Sworkit, which is an app for work out, pilates and also stretching. Some features I thought it would be similar but Sticha App focus more on making the user day-by-day routine less stressful and also keep their habits more healthy. From Sworkit I adopted the progress elipse, for example, and some other elements to increment the usability of Sticha App.

Thumbnail sketches are nothing more than quick, rough drawings that approximate layouts and placement of key design features or elements. Drawing thumbnails with actual paper and pencil is a great way to brainstorm layout possibilities swiftly and easily.

Design Choices

About the Logo: A panda is a powerful spirit animal inspiring tranquil strength and determination. Under its soft and fuzzy appearances, this animal totem brings forth the importance of strong personal boundaries to feel safe and grounded in life. The panda is a symbol of gentleness and strength.

The app color palette is based on the logo: Brown, White, Black, Green (that is universally associated with nature) and Purple (that symbolizes magic, mystery, spirituality, the sub-conscious, creativity, dignity, royalty – and it evokes all of these meanings more so than any other color.)
